Airbag – Homesick I – III

Airbag

” Before I listened to Airbag,
I saw a description of their music as being “Late-Night Pink Floyd” – and their sophomore effort fits that description perfectly. Absolutely magnificent music!

Telegraph – Mir

Telegraph - Mir

” The background
of this concept album – the myth of the lonesome cosmonaut forgotten in outer space – is not historically correct.
First of all, Sergey Krikalyov never was alone on the Mir. When Soyuz TM-13 left the space station, its commander Aleksandr Volkov stayed with him. Moreover, both of them weren’t forgotten there, but agreed to stay in the wake of some – in retrospect maybe silly – political decisions made by the disintegrating USSR. Correct is that Krikalyov was living on the Mir almost six months longer than initially planned – 311 days in total.
Nevermind, this 51-minute metaphor about loneliness in a far-away artificial refuge beyond all civilization is a faithful retro-style opus in the vein of 70’s space rock, as created then by “Nektar”, “Eloy”, “Grobschnitt”, and the likes.

Tunguska Constellation: Sergey Borovkov – Free Your Mind

Sergey Borovkov - Free Your Mind

” The music is phenomenally
beautiful and tender to the senses, like rose-petals or stars floating in a velvet blackness…
music which sometimes drives you to ecstasy and fills your soul with a deep discernment; impossible to put into perfect words… yet… perhaps with an offering of euphoria matching the sublimity of angels… a flowing dream . .. a vision of rapture …

GROOMBRIDGE - Hypnotic

” Groombridge sound like
strange smooshwich between Sufjan Stevens and AFI, but instead of there being tattoos on everyone, everyone just carries around the original artwork inspirations for their would-be tattoos and no one judges anyone for all the moons and barbed wire and Chinese characters on everyone’s laps.

Tangerine Dream – Under Cover

Cover

“The idea
for the album is said to have started in 2008 in Los Angeles. The band was touring in the west coast area at the time, and their promoter jokingly told the band they should cover top 40 hits. It grew into a bet and a full blown concept after careful consideration from the band.
